Her Majesty the Queen announced the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, The Duke of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, on Friday 9 April 2021.
Throughout the Duke of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½’s extraordinary life of public service, he demonstrated great appreciation of and support for Scotland’s capital city and its citizens. As a former Chancellor of the University of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, for over 50 years, and the Patron of many ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½-based charities, he won a special place in the hearts of the Scottish people.
