Getting to Leith, the Shore and Newhaven

Leith and the Shore is a popular choice for ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ residents and visitors with its wide range of places to eat, drink or shop.

It's really easy to get there by walking, cycling or by bus.

If you've travelled into the city by tram, you can use your tram ticket on

  • Lothian Service 25 bus from Shandwick Place to Leith
  • Lothian Service 16 bus from Lothian Road which goes to Leith and Newhaven.

Bus

You can get Lothian bus services 1, 16, 25, 34, 35 and 36 to Leith. Service 16 takes you to Newhaven.

There are dedicated cycle lanes to and through Leith Walk and the Shore from the city centre.

Parking

While we want to encourage more people to choose public transport, walking or cycling, we know that some of you do need a car to get around.

Recent changes to parking in the area have provided more parking for people with disabilities. Anyone with a blue badge can park in pay and display and shared bays and also single and double yellow lines under certain conditions.

While the Shore itself has limited parking, making it a more pleasant area to walk around, there is parking in nearby streets within a short walk of the Shore.
